Today, you’ll journey to McLeod Ganj, the spiritual home of the Tibetan community in exile. After breakfast, drive through scenic mountain roads to reach McLeod Ganj. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours, covering a distance of around 240 kilometers. Highlights along the way include panoramic views of the Himalayas, picturesque valleys, and quaint hill stations. Upon arrival in McLeod Ganj, check into your hotel and take
some time to acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon, visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex and explore the famous Namgyal Monastery.

Spend the day exploring the cultural and natural attractions of McLeod Ganj. Visit the Bhagsunath Temple and Bhagsu Waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery. The temple is located approximately 2 kilometers from McLeod Ganj and can be reached by a short drive or a scenic walk. Explore the Tibetan Museum and learn about the history and culture of Tibet.

After breakfast, depart McLeod Ganj for Manali. Enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains, passing by picturesque valleys and rivers. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours, covering a distance of around 220 km. Highlights along the way include views of snow-capped peaks, dense forests, and gushing rivers. Upon arrival in Manali, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Today, explore the attractions of Manali. Visit Hadimba Devi Temple, known for its unique architecture. The temple is located approximately 2 kilometers from the main market area of Manali and can be reached by a short drive or a leisurely walk. Take a stroll along the Mall Road and shop for local handicrafts. Enjoy adventure activities like paragliding and river rafting in the surrounding valleys.

Depart Manali and travel to Jispa, a serene village in the Lahaul Valley. Enjoy the scenic drive through high mountain passes like Rohtang Pass. The drive takes approximately 4-5 hours, covering a distance of around 140km. Highlights along the way include panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and colorful prayer flags. Upon arrival in Jispa, check into your accommodation and relax amidst the natural beauty.

Continue your journey to Tsokar Lake, a high-altitude saltwater lake surrounded by barren mountains. The drive takes approximately 7-8 hours, covering a distance of around 220 kilometers. Highlights along the way include views of rugged landscapes, nomadic settlements, and grazing yaks. Explore the lake and spot migratory birds like bar-headed geese and Brahminy ducks. Visit Thugje Monastery and interact with local nomadic communities. Stay overnight in comfortable tented accommodation here.

The drive to Leh from Tsokar takes approximately 5-6 hours, covering a distance of around 150 km. Highlights along the way include crossing the Tanglang La Pass. Upon arrival in Leh visit rhe main bazaar area, explore and meet the locals.

Architecture: The architecture of Leh Palace is reminiscent of Tibetan and
Ladakhi styles, with its nine stories towering over the landscape. It's characterized by intricate woodwork, mural paintings, and ornate balconies.

Significance: Despite being in a state of partial ruin today, Leh Palace remains an iconic symbol of Ladakhi heritage and architecture. Visitors can explore its corridors, rooms, and courtyards, gaining insights into the royal history and lifestyle of Ladakh.

THIKSEY MONASTERY:

History: Thiksey Monastery, also known as Thiksey Gompa, is a prominent Tibetan Buddhist monastery located around 19 kilometers from Leh. It was founded in the 15th century and belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Architecture: The monastery complex is an architectural marvel, comprising multiple structures built on different levels of the hillside. Its prominent feature is the Maitreya Temple, which houses a giant statue of the Future Buddha (Maitreya), standing at around 49 feet tall.

Significance: Thiksey Monastery is renowned for its religious significance, vibrant

HEMIS MONASTERY:

History: Hemis Monastery, located around 45 kilometers southeast of Leh, is one of the wealthiest and most famous monasteries in Ladakh. It was founded in the 17th century by the first incarnation of Stagsang Raspa Nawang Gyatso. Architecture: The monastery complex is built in a traditional Tibetan architectural style, featuring colorful murals, intricate woodwork, and ornate statues. The main attraction of Hemis Monastery is its large courtyard where the annual Hemis Festival is celebrated with great pomp and fervor.

Significance: Hemis Monastery holds significant religious importance as the seat of the Drukpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in Ladakh. Spend the evening exploring the
markets and indulging in local cuisine.

SHEY PALACE:
History: Shey Palace, situated atop a hillock in the picturesque village of Shey, was once the summer retreat of the kings of Ladakh. It was constructed in the 17th century by King Deldan Namgyal as his royal residence. The palace served as the capital of Ladakh before the seat of power shifted to Leh.

Architecture and Highlights: The palace complex is renowned for its architectural grandeur and historical significance. Its standout feature is the towering Shakyamuni Buddha statue, which is believed to be one of the largest metal statues in Ladakh. Crafted from copper and gilded with gold, the statue exudes a sense of serenity and spirituality. The interiors of Shey Palace are adorned with exquisite murals, depicting religious
